Episode #1: Doing Small Business Better: Working smarter

In the first video of our small business video series, the panel discusses what business owners can do to help themselves, and their staff, do what they do better.

For some people, working smarter means being incredibly efficient; for others, it means outsourcing the work they don’t enjoy. And, in the end, how can doing tasks smarter avoid the dreaded business owner burnout?

Hosted by Andrew Griffiths, taking part in this panel will be Troy Eggins, managing director of Trojan TechGroup; Bob Greenup, managing director of BNI Sydney central and south; Peter “Ziggy” Tsiglopoulos, director and owner, 3P Financial Pty; and Lisa Conway, owner of Zing Business Coaching.

It took a little bit to go to one on one coaching because I wasn’t sure about trusting the financial investment.

But within a month or two our figures were soaring. The girls were a lot happier ,and I was accountable for what was happening in the business. The ZING coaches are there to help you. They put things into place so you are not going to fail- it’s a trust thing, but it is foolproof you just have to trust.

My own personal stress levels have certainly dropped. The other big change is that we have changed our bonus structure. We now do profit sharing, the girls love it! They are getting more money for working smarter not harder.

I personally have gone back to 1-2 days a week and the rest of the time is at home.
