Welcome to last panel discussion in ZDNet’s Doing Small Business Better video series. This week, our discussion addresses the concept of creating a resilient business.

Resilience covers a lot of ground, from financial resilience to personal resilience, and everything in between. A resilient business can weather virtually any challenge, and the concept itself is being discussed more and more often.

Host Andrew Griffiths and panel participants Troy Eggins, managing director of Trojan TechGroup; Bob Greenup, managing director of BNI Sydney central and south; Peter “Ziggy” Tsiglopoulos, director and owner, 3P Financial Pty; and Lisa Conway, owner of Zing Business Coaching, discuss what resilience means for some small businesses.

It took a little bit to go to one on one coaching because I wasn’t sure about trusting the financial investment.

But within a month or two our figures were soaring. The girls were a lot happier ,and I was accountable for what was happening in the business. The ZING coaches are there to help you. They put things into place so you are not going to fail- it’s a trust thing, but it is foolproof you just have to trust.

My own personal stress levels have certainly dropped. The other big change is that we have changed our bonus structure. We now do profit sharing, the girls love it! They are getting more money for working smarter not harder.

I personally have gone back to 1-2 days a week and the rest of the time is at home.

It’s great to have direction, I am so much more accountable and I know my figures.
